The Maples

The Maples has been specifically designed to offer a warm homely environment for  children and young people aged between 8 -17 years who may have associated behaviours linked to Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) or Learning Disabilities (mild to moderate) that will benefit from living within a small residential group living environment

The Maples is a small, detached property, set in its own grounds in New Marske, in the Northeast of England.  The house is within close proximity to Redcar and Saltburn with travel by road and bus. There are many opportunities for participation in a wide range of recreational and leisure activities in the geographical area surrounding The Maples. Saltburn, Marske and New Marske is a civil parish in Redcar and Cleveland in north-east. As its name suggests, the parish includes SaltburnMarske-by-the-Sea and the inland settlement of New Marske. It borders the parishes of Skelton and BrottonGuisborough and the unparished area of Redcar

There are amenities close by including access to the local Sports Club, shopping, parks, beaches restaurants, swimming, bowling, cinema, libraries, horse riding and go-karting; these activities are all within a short travelling distance and staff will support young people in their chosen recreational activities. We will also encourage our young people to visit places of interest, to go for nature walks in the local countryside, and to join clubs and groups according to their personal preferences and interests.  The Maples staff team will encourage the young people to try out new things and to experience new challenges, learning across a 24-hour curriculum, broadening their own expectations and to successfully achieve.
