The Beeches

The Beeches is a large detached property set in extensive grounds in the town of Redcar, situated in the North East of England. The Beeches is within close proximity to Middlesbrough, Stockton and Darlington with very good travel links by road and train.

The layout of The Beeches was specifically designed to offer creative space for indoor activities and an environment where children can make use of spacious communal areas or enjoy their own private living area. The ground floor has a large lounge, TV room, large open plan kitchen & dining area, double bedroom with en-suite, office and WC. The upstairs floor has; four double bedrooms (three of which offer en-suite facilities), a large communal bathroom and a laundry room.

The Beeches has a very large garden area to the rear of the house that lends itself to a wide range of leisure and physical activities that the children can undertake. The house has a small driveway to the front and a large gated driveway to the rear that hosts a number of parking spaces for our staff and visitors.

The nearby areas host expansive countryside and beaches, some of which are well within walking distance. There are a number of picturesque coastal towns close by including Saltburn and Whitby; both are within a short driving distance and a provide a great setting for a relaxing day out.

Manager - Sarah

Sarah’ experience began working within a youth club setting working with young people living in an area of high deprivation, supported the young people in addressing anti-social behaviour, substance misuse, issues with education and unemployment. Sarah has worked in a number of residential settings for children and young people working as a Support Worker, Deputy Manager and Registered Manager. Previous employment has included working with young people who have emotional & behavioural difficulties as well as those with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Learning Disabilities and other complex needs.  Sarah has experience in supporting adults who have experienced difficulties with homelessness, substance misuse and other social difficulties.

Assistant Manager - Karen

Karen has extensive work experience across an array of sectors working predominantly with young adults/care leavers with vulnerable attributes. Karen has managed a YCMA Leaving Care Residential/Independent living unit that offered support for 31 young adults with identified support needs including Mental Health, Substance Misuse, Victims of Exploitation, NEETS and Offending Behaviours. The Service supported young care leavers with skills for independence, further education/employment with a firm focus on restorative practice.

Karen has also led on a number of MOJ contracts working within the custodial settings and community settings. These roles required Karen to work with individual with offending behavior’s and also their families – to ensure a safe re-engagement into society. The emphasis being on managing risk and reducing re-offending.

The Team

The staff team at The Beeches have a wide and diverse range of skills they have acquired from working in an array of settings including; residential social care, substance / alcohol misuse, recovery and harm minimisation for adults and young people, mainstream and alternative education settings, young people's mental health services, supported living services, criminal justice system, youth work and recreational sports including FA football coaching.
